DCAC Lightning Classic Frosh-Soph race #2 – 4K (Tues, Oct 8)

This meet is a continuation of the last Frosh-Soph race we ran in early Sept. With the Great American race just several days later, we won’t be running all of our Frosh-Soph girls at this meet. All Frosh-Soph girls who are not competing in Alabama will run in this Frosh-Soph race. You can expect the level of competition to be similar to last time, and the course itself will include a few hills. Remember though, this is just a 4K (i.e. 2.5 miles) and not a 5K.

Race entries: please arrive no later than 4:00pm (race starts @ 5:00pm)

Parking: please do not park on the grass or alongside the road
 
Directions to McNeely Lake (from Assumption) – longer and slower, but without freeway:
1. Take Bardstown Road south
2. Turn right onto Hikes Lane
3. Turn left (fairly soon) onto Shepherdsville Road
4. After about 3.5 miles, turn left onto Outer Loop and then turn right on Smyrna Road
5. You’ll go under the Gene Snyder and (not long after) will turn left onto Cooper Chapel Road
6. Turn right at Park Road (entrance to McNeely Lake) – the lake will be on your left as you enter the park

7. Continue down Park Rd until you’re close to the end – park in the last lot or at the school (across street)

 
Directions to McNeely Lake (from Assumption) – easier way that includes freeway:
1. Take I-264 (Watterson) west to the I-65 south
2. Take the I-65 south to the I-265 (Gene Snyder) and go east
3. Exit the Gene Snyder at Smyrna Road (should be exit 14)
4. Turn right onto Smyrna Rd (at the end of the offramp)
5. Turn left onto Cooper Chapel Road – about ½ mile down
6. Turn right at Park Road (entrance to McNeely Lake) – the lake will be on your left as you enter the park

7. Continue down Park Rd until you’re close to the end – park in the last lot or at the school (across street)
